Season 1 Episode 10: SRTS - Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety

Data released in June 2023 from the Governors Highway Safety Association showed American drivers are projected to have struck and killed at least 7,508 people walking in 2022. That is a 77% increase since 2010 and the highest number since 1981, according to the study. Georgia saw 344 pedestrian fatalities in 2022. That is 344 too many.

In this episode, we talk to GDOT’s State Safety Engineering Supervisor Ron Knezevich and Safe Routes to School Coordinator Patti Sistrunk about what the Georgia Department of Transportation is doing to keep you and your families safe when you are in such a vulnerable situation.
